Hello there, I’m

I’m captivated by good design. I nerd out over blind embossed logos and hand-drawn icons.
I love details. Typography
When I think of good design, I think of boutique hotels I’ve stayed in while traveling the world with Adam that enveloped me in an experience.
These places had personalities. Every detail was considered. From the signs on parking spaces, to the elevator buttons, to the restaurant menus, to the ‘Do Not Disturb’ sign on my door. Every word, every color, every texture, and every taste gave me a feeling like I’m in the right place. Those experiences are what I long to create for you, and for your clients. I want to explore your quirks, learn your strengths, and visually share your unique story in a way that gets your audience lost in it.
At Kalie Berkey Creative, it’s just you and me, lady.
I remember my days working at a large design agency (when those were still a “thing”). I craved personal connection with my clients.
I didn’t want so many barriers. I didn’t want the process to feel so big for them, and I wasn’t getting direct access to the people I really wanted to serve.
I have a soft spot for women-owned startups and small businesses less than 5 employees, because I know you. I am you. I know you’re DIY-ing every piece of your business puzzle. I also know you want to show UP as the strong brand you are, and I know you need individualized care from someone who knows how to do the thing you don’t. Let me tell you the good news…
Have you looked up to a successful brand and thought, “Why can’t my brand look that good? Why can’t it be that simple?”
Working with me, it can.
And don’t forget, YOU are successful.

I love working with
passionate, engaged businesses
who have a vision for their projects.
It’s Trivia Time
I love game nights especially trivia. So here are a few somewhat interesting facts about my life:

I have a fine arts degree and concentrated in graphic design. I have been working as a designer for 12 years, a photo editor for 8 years, and a photographer for 2 years.
A caramel macchiato or Bourbon neat, depending on the time of day.
Both… yes, really. I can organize and create hierarchies of information, then spin it around and present it in creative ways that are aesthetically pleasing and eye-catching. It’s a weird (but super cool) combo.
False. I’m from Erie, and after also living in Lexington, Kentucky for two years, I moved to Pittsburgh in 2013. I love exploring the endless local businesses and volunteering.
My dad’s homemade lasagna. Three. Layers. Tall. (And let’s be honest, I’d eat Italian food every day if I could).
- Write a cookbook
- Open a tiny sandwich shop

Dark wash jeans, black v-neck tee and black sneakers.
- Podcasts. Radiolab, Armchair Expert and Invisibilia.
- Carnitas with salsa verde. My husband and I grow garlic, tomatillos and jalapenos just so we can have it on hand all summer long.
- Instagram. I can’t scroll enough.
My dogs, Wally and Sammy. It’s true. They take up 90% of my camera roll. But I also love photographing food, products and interiors for passionate small business owners.
That Black Lives Matter.
That women deserve their rights.
That love is love.
That we should respect our planet.
And that we should all have the chance at living a healthy, just life.
